Endometrióza a CBD

Endometriosis affects about 10 to 15% of women at their reproductive age (Healthline 2019).

In this article, we will talk about how CBD oils may prevent, ease symptoms, or support the treatment of this disease.

How CBD helps with Endometriosis pain vascularisation Dr.Ross

If you are new to the topic of CBD oils, we do recommend you read our previous article What is CBD?

What is Endometriosis ?

Endometriosis is considered a chronic female disease. The name is derived from the Latin word endometrium – the lining of the uterus. During this disease, the endometrial cells migrate to other organs in the body. Unfortunately, current medicine cannot identify the triggers of this disease.

Most often the endometrium migrates to:

- Ovaries

- Underbelly

- Fallopian tubes

- Bladder

- Intestines

- In some cases, the brain, heart, lungs, or spleen

Endometrium in the Body

The presence of the endometrium in other organs may causes pain or infection.

The most common symptoms are:

- Painful menstruation

- Pain during intercourse

- Chronic pelvic pain

- Convulsions

- Infertility

- Blood in the feces or urine

Likewise, the lining of the uterus, the endometrium cells respond to a woman's menstrual cycles, even though they are presented in another part of the body. During the menstruation, the cells bleed, however, have no way to be extracted from the body. Therefore, they cause pain and infections. Traces of this blood may be found in the urine or feces. When the endometrium settles on the walls of the digestive system, vomiting and convulsions are a common symptom. This is also an area where more research is being undertaken of how CBD oils may help.

Furthermore, the endometrium forms clumps and growths in the healthy tissue of the affected organ, which can develop into cysts. The cells can penetrate deep into the tissue, where they form a dense network of nerves, which causes a severe pain.

Endometriosis and the Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system is made up of receptors in our body that responses to cannabinoids. CB1 and CB2 receptors are currently known. Endocannabinoids are formed in our body (eg anandamide), while phytocannabinoids are absorbed into the body from plants (cannabinoids are found not only in cannabis plants but also in hops, citruses or ginger).

If the cannabinoid system functions in the body well, it can prevent the migration of dysfunctional and harmful cells. We described talk about this topic more in depth in our article CBD oils -  An effective helper to tackle skin problems.

CBD oils are helpful in:

- Prevention of cell migration

- Pain relief

- Stopping cell migration

- Influence of vascularisation (formation of blood vessels in the tissue)

- Relaxation of the muscles in the pelvis and abdomen area

Recent research suggests that CBD oils may reduce the growth of cells that cause vascularisation. If the cells do not continue to grow, cysts formation can be prevented.

Treatment and Prevention

Recent studies suggest that in addition to affecting the CB1 and CB2 receptors, CBD oils also influence the GPR18 receptor. It is this receptor that prevents the cell migration. Furthermore, stimulation of the CB1 receptor stops tissue growth and pain in the mass.

Dr. Ross, who discusses this topic in her studies, mentions that endometriosis occurs when the endocannabinoid system is not functioning in the body well enough. Therefore, many studies recommend adding CBD oils into the body to support a good functioning.

CBD oils are also beneficial in the treatment of:

- Anxiety and depression

- Insomnia

- Blood pressure

- Skin improvement and acne reduction

- Stress reduction

- Prevention of diabetes and other diseases

- Relaxation and mental well-being

- Raising the mood

- Assistance in the treatment of substance abuse

- Improved digestion

- Treatment of skin problems - psoriasis, acne, or eczema

Suitable CBD Oil

It is very important to point out that THC can have the opposite effect and actually support the cell migration in the body. The solution is therefore THC-free CBD oils, such as CBDium oils from the Pure line.  These CBD oils contain a dual oil essence made from organic pumpkins. Women who choose other than surgical or hormonal treatment for endometriosis often take herbal and pumpkin seed supplements. It is exactly CBDium brand from our portfolio of products that uses a pumpkin oil as a carrier.
